This is a really nice example of mid-century pottery. It is a bright yellow with a glossy glaze. The vase is shaped with three rounded rows. The top row is the largest and most exaggerated. The last row at the bottom being the smallest and least rounded. The bottom does have a mark that looks like two intersecting lines almost like a sword. We have not yet been able to identify the maker.
It is really beautiful but does have some condition problems. There is a small ship on the rim. There is also a crack on the rim that runs down the collar of the vase and there is a hairline that runs below the collar. There are small imperfections in the pottery and a small ding on one side near the center.
It measures approximately 7” in diameter and is 9 ½” tall.
This would be a great decorative piece to brighten up a dark spot, or bring a pop of color into a monochromatic design.
