This is an exceptionally lovely art pottery pitcher or creamer. It is marked on the bottom Anton Lang. Almost translucent white covers a dark brown base. There is a large dark blue flower with a yellow center and green leaves painted in the front. The sides are decorated with circles of green with brown dabs painted inside. The handle is painted green and brown. The rim and base are banded in dark brown.
It measures approximately 4” high and 3” in diameter.
It has a small stress crack where the handle was formed and two rough spots on either side of the spout. There are no other condition problems and this is a very lovely item.
Anton Lang was born January 17, 1875 and died May 30, 1938. He was a German studio potter and an actor who performed in the Oberammergau Passion Plays.
