This is a wonderful old English pewter teapot dating to around 1840. It has a wood handle and hinged lid with a ball finial. It has the number 5 on the bottom. There are touch marks but they are so worn they are not discernable.
The teapot is in very used loved, and passed down in the family condition. It shows its age and use. There are three fairly significant dents. The foot on one side is turned up. There is a repair on the hinged lid. The wood handle is understandably loose from wood shrinkage over the decades and there are a couple of cracks. The spout is banged up a little. Still she is a beauty and has a wonderful old patina and shape.
The teapot measures approximately 7” in diameter, 12 ½” from spout to handle and is 6 ½” tall to the top of the finial.
