This is an unusual pair of matching metal candlestick holders. They date to around the third quarter of the 1800's. The candlesticks are metal with a gold colored finish that has darkened with age. They have a slight patina to them. The candlesticks are ornately decorated with and detailed carving around the neck and base of the candlesticks. They are claw footed and the center of the stick is roped or twisted. This is a very unusual pair of candlesticks.
The condition of the candlesticks is very good but there is some oxidation on the foot of one of the candles which you can see in the pictures.
They measure approximately 8" in height and the base is approximately 3 ¼" wide.
The lovely leaf motif of these candlesticks would work well with many different decorating styles from Art Nouveau to Victorian.
