This is a lovely early light blue transferware plate. I have not been able to locate the pattern name or maker for this plate. There are two letters impressed into the back. One letter looks like a C. The other letter could be another C or it could possibly be a G.
It has an unusual border. The center of the plate has a romantic scene with two gentlemen standing in front of a woman with a child who are sitting down. Two men are off to the right in the background. There are trees, a cottage, a church with a steeple and houses in the background. The plate is 12 sided.
The plate dates to around the mid 1800’s.
It measures approximately 9 ¼”.
Manufacturing imperfections do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust bump and unevenness in the transfer, etc. There is expected light crazing consistent with age. There are no cracks or chips. It is in overall nice condition. Please be sure to look carefully at the pictures for condition.
