This beautiful and hard to find 19th century brown willow plate is indented and printed in brown in the standard willow pattern with pagoda, fence in foreground, three men on bridge and two birds in the sky. The center is framed in a band of geometrical design and the border is composed of geometrical motifs and scrolls. It was manufactured by John Meir & Son and dates to around the mid 1800’s.
The plate measures approximately 8 1/4” in diameter.
There is a glaze pop that occurred during firing in the front on the left side. There is light crazing due to age. There are no cracks or chips.
