This is a really lovely light blue transferware ironstone plate in the pattern called “Vintage”. It was made by J. & G. Alcock, Cobridge, England. The mark on the back of the plate was used by the manufacturer from 1839 through 1846. The pattern is a Romantic Scene. It shows four men along the banks of a river. There are trees and a pretty house in the background. The border is decorated with vines of grape leaves and clusters of grapes. The plate has 12 sides.
It measures approximately 10 1/2”.
There are the expected small manufacturing flaws and light crazing due to age. There is a rough spot on the rim that appears to have occurred during manufacture. Please look at the pictures carefully.
