This is a pretty cake plate in a pattern that is known as sprig. It was made in England and dates to the mid 1800's. It has a pretty hand painted pattern of pink luster leaves, lightly tinted pink flowers and bright reddish leaves. The corners are embossed with flowers and swags. The edge is beautifully scalloped.
The plate measures approximately 9 ½" across.
It is not marked.
There are no cracks, chips or crazing. There are light utensil marks and imperfections in the pottery. The pink luster that is on the edge of the plate and the circular band in the center is very worn. With the exception of the reddish leaves all of the other leaves and flowers are faded. Please examine the pictures carefully.
