This is a very nice light blue transferware plate by William Ridgway in the hard to find Euphrates pattern. It is marked on the back with the maker’s mark and the pattern. The mark dates the plate to 1834. There is also an impress mark on that back that is indecipherable.
The plate has gently scalloped edges and a beautifully decorated border. There are flowers in blue around the rim and six scenes or cartouches of palm trees and buildings. The center has a lovely exotic scene with a camel, people, trees and buildings.
The overall condition of the plate is good. There is a chip on the back rim of the plate that barely shows on the front edge.
It measures approximately 10 1/2” in diameter.
