This wonderful early fork was hand forged. It has a wrought iron handle flattened at the top with a curved handle. The fork is two pronged. The handle is marked with what looks like numbers 4 and 5. It is very hard to see them.
The fork and handle measure approximately 12 1/2” in length and 1/2” wide. The fork prongs measure approximately 2 1/4” long by 2” wide.
There is a slight curve in the handle - I don’t know if it was originally made like this or if it occurred during almost two centuries of use. Also the edge of the turned handle is rough. Please look at all pictures carefully.
