This 1970’s necktie with its pattern of tied flies is perfect for the fly fisherman. The fabric features maroon and dark blue diagonal stripes with rows of detailed flies against the maroon. According to this Ruby Lane shop’s resident expert (my fly fishing husband), the woven pattern is a stylized version of the dry fly known as the Green Drake. The maker’s label says “Ferrell Reed for The Hound, San Francisco,” and a second label says “Hand Made in the USA, English Silk & Dacron”.
This vintage necktie measures 56 inches in length and 3 ¼ inches across the tip. It is in excellent vintage condition with no spots, stains, holes, or scents. It has been professionally dry cleaned. This tie with its detailed pattern of flies is an excellent tie and a clear statement of what you love to do in your spare time.
