This 1970’s silk necktie features a pattern of tied flies in blue-grey and tan. The basic color of the tie is burgundy with a diagonal stripe of green, tan, and blue with rows of finely detailed flies between the stripes. According to this Ruby Lane shop’s resident expert (my fly fishing husband), the woven pattern is a dry fly known as the Royal Wulff. The maker’s label says “Ferrell Reed for Cambridge Ltd, San Francisco,” and the fabric content label says “Hand Made, All Silk, Woven in England.”
This vintage necktie measures 57 inches in length and is 3 ¼ inches across the tip of the blade. The tie is in excellent vintage condition with no spots, stains, thread pulls, holes, or scents. It has been professionally dry cleaned. This excellent tie with its pattern of classic flies is perfect anyone who ties flies or loves to fly fish.
