This 1970’s Ferrell Reed tie with its design of mallards in flight has such a great look. The basic color of the tie is tan with very narrow diagonal stripes in burgundy. The mallards are set against the burgundy stripe and are stitched in green, grey, off-white and orange. The details are exceptional. The maker’s label says “Ferrell Reed for Cambridge, Ltd, San Francisco” and a smaller label says “Hand Made 100% Silk Face.”
This vintage necktie measures 56 inches in length and is 3 ¼ inches across the tip of the blade. There is a very tiny dark spot at the very tip of the blade, but the tie is otherwise in excellent vintage condition. There are no stains, thread pulls, or scents, and it has been professionally dry cleaned. This tie with its wonderfully detailed mallard ducks is a fine-looking tie.
