This vintage narrow necktie combines the soft drape of silk with a subtle pattern. The result is a great-looking tie. The basic color is a silvery grey with a pattern of small textured ovals, and it has a light sheen. The tie label identifies it as a Brittania, and the WPL number is 2555, dating the tie to the 1950’s. Ties from this period are normally between 51 and 54 inches, but this tie and several others listed in my shop came from the estate of a man who was quite tall, so he presumably purchased ties from shops catering to tall men.
The tie measures 58 inches in length and is 2 ½ inches at the tip. There is a thread pull on the blade, but it is otherwise in excellent vintage condition with no spots, stains, holes, or scents. It has been professionally dry cleaned. The color of this great looking necktie goes with nearly anything.
