This 1950’s baguette handbag in shiny taupe is such classic chic! The structured handbag is a glossy taupe with a gold-tone clasp and hinged frame. In classic baguette styling, the bag is longer from side to side than from top to bottom. The purse opens with a lift up clasp to reveal a golden satin lining with a slip pocket lined in deep brown. There is no maker’s label. The arched handle is metal covered in matching taupe, and the bottom of the bag has four little protective metal feet.
The handbag is slightly trapezoid in shape and measures 12 inches along the bottom, 13 inches along the top, 6 inches from top to bottom, and 2 ½ inches across the bottom. The handle has a 4-inch drop. The lining of the bag has some stains, and there is a bit of fraying at the edges of the pocket. There is a tiny bit of scuffing typical of vintage patent handbags, but other than that, the exterior looks great. This handbag is in excellent vintage condition, and there are no holes, cracked vinyl, or scents. This is a very chic looking 1950’s handbag and will be a wonderful addition to your wardrobe.
