This 1950’s black convertible clutch is stylish and versatile. The handbag is created of black leather which is embossed in a reptile pattern. To give the design a bit of extra pizzazz, both the front and the back of the clutch are divided into three panels with topstitching details. The bag opens with a unique metal gold-tone frame which has four hinges. The leather decorated clasp unlocks by simply lifting it up, and the offset hinged frame opens to reveal saffron colored corde lining. The chain is attached to hinges located inside the frame, allowing the chain to be used as a handle or tucked inside the clutch. The maker’s tag is attached to the inside of the frame and says “Etra, Genuine Leather”.
The clutch measures 6 ½ by 11 inches, and the chain has a 15 inch drop. The frame has some light scratches and a bit of discoloration in one area, but the clutch is otherwise in excellent vintage condition with tight stitching, and no spots, stains, rips, or scents. This is a lovely clutch, versatile in use and classic in design.
