This 1960’s Lewis convertible clutch is versatile and smart! The clutch is an envelope design constructed of black suede leather with a black patent vinyl flap. The flap opens with a hexagonal shaped snap to show black faille lining which is imprinted with the Lewis gold crown logo. The gold-tone chain is conveniently attached so it can be used as a handle, or it can be tucked inside, converting it to a clutch. This handbag comes with a bonus: its original plastic logo label, a truly rare vintage find. The 2 ½ by 1 ½ plastic label is attached to the chain by a gold fabric cord and is inscribed with the gold crown logo above the Lewis name.
The clutch measures 9 by 7 ½ inches, and the chain has a 12 ½ inch drop. As is typical of vinyl patent, there are a few very light scratches. The bag is otherwise in excellent vintage condition with no rips, holes, spots, stains, or scents. This stylish 1960’s Lewis clutch is the perfect go anywhere, do anything accessory.
