This vintage cross-body handbag in shades of ecru with desert sand leather accents is smart and classy. The handbag is created of textured vinyl in khaki shades decorated with the triangular shape of the early Liz Claiborne logo. The purse is accented with desert sand leather piping as well as a horizontal leather band topstitched to the front. The leather shoulder strap is also topstitched. A magnetic clasp opens the hinged frame to reveal an interior lined in ecru material.
The label stitched to the zippered pocket says, “Liz Claiborne Accessories, Genuine Leather Trim, 1984 Liz Claiborne Inc” and a small label stitched into the side of the lining says, “1984 Liz Claiborne Inc, Surface design a trademark of Liz Claiborne, Inc, and Copyright is claimed therein, Made in Korea.” This handbag dates from the mid-1980’s when Liz Claiborne was most involved in the fashion choices of her brand and during the time when she was one of the earliest women to make the Fortune 500 list.
The handbag measures 11 ½ inches by 6 ½ inches with 2 ½ inches across the bottom, and the strap has a 21 inch drop. It is in wonderful vintage condition and appears to have little use. There is a little bit of scuffing on the leather piping, but the bag is otherwise clean with no spots, stains, holes, tears, or scents. This classy handbag will be a wonderful addition to your vintage wardrobe.
