This vintage F&CC belt buckle from the Gold Belt Line commemorates the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad, the first narrow-gauge railroad involved in the Colorado Gold Rush. The brushed pewter belt buckle features an etched locomotive emitting a huge plume of steam. The tender follows the locomotive and is marked Florence & Cripple Creek. This is a great etching with many fine details. The back of the buckle is headed “The Gold Belt Line” and includes historical information regarding the role of the F&CC line in the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush. The bottom line includes the information “L.T.D. Manufacturing, Mesa, AZ 85201.”
The buckle measures 2 ¼ by 3 ½ inches and takes a belt up to 1 ¾ inches wide. It shows light wear, and there are some very light scratches and a couple of very tiny dings on the edge. Otherwise this buckle is in excellent vintage condition. This is a great looking buckle—an excellent accessory and wonderful railroad memorabilia.
