This 1950’s brooch with its two stylized feathers embedded with rhinestones is simply fabulous. The asymmetrical fronds curve gently down from the top of the brooch and are textured with feather-like striations. The ribs of the feathers are closely set with rhinestones which are graduated in size. The arc at the top of the pin is also closely set with rhinestones and is designed to emulate a ribbon curling around to hold the feathers together. Both the rhinestones and the golden textured striations catch the light and add to the luxuriance of the brooch.
The brooch measures 2 1/8 by 1 ½ inches and has a standard pin stem and safety catch closure in good working order. The design has many of the elements used by Adolph Katz during this period but is not signed. The pin is in excellent vintage condition with the exception of several very tiny darker spots next to the ribs. All the rhinestones are present. This is brooch of excellent quality and will add elegance to any wardrobe choice.
