Flashes and splashes of orange embellish the wearer of this brightly colored necklace. Czech fire-polished beads in graduated sizes form the basis of this necklace. The larger fire-polished beads are interspersed with luminescent tangerine colored acrylic beads which color-shift in the changing light. Gold-toned Hogan beads add accent and create additional spots of shifting color. The necklace measures 22 inches, and a gold-plated hook closure completes the design.
To make things more fun, I created two pairs of matching earrings. The first pair of earrings features Czech fire-polished beads in two sizes captured between golden Hogan beads. The earrings measure 2 ¼ inches from the piercing, and the necklace measures 22 inches in length. The second pair is perfect seasonal wear for Día de Muertos or Halloween. I used a pair of orange magnesite skull beads, framed them with orange seed beads, and hung bright orange crystal bicone beads under the skulls. These earrings also measure 2 ¼ inches from the piercing.
Some people believe that orange and tangerine are fall colors, but I have a great fondness for these colors and think they look great during any season! You can choose to wear the skulls only in the fall if you wish, but for the rest of the year, wearing this necklace is like capturing a bit of the sunset and wearing it as jewelry.
