This bracelet is created from brightly colored vintage buttons, giving the perfect balance of charm and red, white, and blue colors. The central button was created for the 1976 Bicentennial celebration and depicts a flag with the dates 1776 – 1976 under the flag. The button shows a bit of wear but still retains its bright colors and bravely waving flag. For the additional buttons, I chose red, white, and blue buttons in a variety of shapes and sizes, suspending them from the silver-tone chain. The buttons include rhinestone buttons, a button with a swirling design, translucent buttons, flower buttons, ridged buttons, pearlized buttons, and a small white rose-shaped button.
The bracelet closes with a trigger-less lobster claw clasp which can be hooked to the part of the chain that makes the best fit. It is adjustable from 7 to 8 ½ inches. A tiny star button is suspended from the end of the chain. Most of the buttons date from the mid-century, primarily the 1950’s and 1960’s with some of more recent vintage. Since it is created with buttons, it is light in weight, and it makes a slight rustling sound with each movement. This vintage button bracelet with its bright red, white, and blue colors is perfect for the campaign trail or any time you feel like wearing red, white, and blue!
