Offered is an ornate filigree, faceted peridot green colored glass bead tassel necklace. This beautiful antique necklace is not marked. I believe it dates to the early 1900s .... 1905-1920, late Victorian to Edwardian period. The multi faceted beads do look like old Czech / Czechoslovakia in origin. The construction..... the thick filigree double sided links look like early Napier pieces that were made by Bliss Brothers. These necklaces typically had a small plaque in place of a clasp (these necklaces were always quite long and didn't need a clasp). The small oval plaque would be marked Bliss or Bliss Bros. Another company this necklace could possibly have been made by was BF&Co. Not much is known about this company, but I have had some of their marked pieces that incorporate the same style tassel.
This green glass really glows like uranium glass with the camera flash when taking the photos. The filigree work on this necklace is all silver tone and has a lovely patina thru out. It has not been cleaned or polished. The necklace is in very good vintage condition with no damage. Wear and patina are age appropriate. There is no verdigris. The necklace is quite long..... it measures 34 1/2" around wearable length, it hangs down 4 1/2" long at the drop.
This is a gorgeous old necklace in a very unusual and striking color of green glass. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection or wardrobe!
