Offered is a rare and unusual early plastics / celluloid Lucky black cat ring. I love that back in the day black cats were considered lucky! This unique ring features a clover and wish bone on one side of the shank, and a clover and horseshoe on the other is. The collar on the little cat reads "Lucky"! The ring is a size 6 1/2. This finish is gilt / gold wash over brass, and although not marked, I suspect it is old Czech in origin. Old Bohemia was certainly noted for it's wonderful art glass, but according to the books by Sibylle Jargstorf they also produced many items in celluloid and galalith. Up thru the 1920's ornate metal works and plastics were combined. And after that many pieces included plastic / celluloid parts or were entirely composed of plastic. The ring is in good to very vintage condition with wear appropriate to age. No damage. I have no way of being certain, but think this is the original ring box. The face of the ring measures about 3/4" tall x 5/8" across. What a fun ring to add to a collection or wear for Halloween! Would look great worn with the good luck signs enamel bracelet I also have listed!
Gender: Unisex, Age Group: Adult, Color: Multi, Size: 6 1/2
