Offered is an exquisite cased glass old Czechoslovakia / Gablonz lampwork art glass sautoir necklace. This stunning necklace features brilliant teal satin glass beads cut back and faceted to a black glass core studded with pink lampwork venetian roses. The metal work is silver tone, most likely rhodium plated which was popular during the 1920s. I'd date this piece to the 1910 - 1920s Jazz age. There is wear to the silver tone finish showing the brass underneath this is age appropriate.
This necklace measures about 35" around wearable and hangs down 4 1/2" long at the drop. There are no chips or cracks, some minor wear to some of the facets which is to be expected in a necklace of this age, nothing readily noticeable and mentioned for accuracy. There is a bead that comprises the push in clasp which helps to identify this as old Bohemia in origin. I can't stress how beautiful the color of this glass is, and the added elegance is that the beads are actually hand cut / or faceted which is an added bonus when collecting this stunning old glass.
