Offered is a gorgeous guilloche enamel slide locket in the sumptuous shade of the deepest garnet red with forest green and gold gilt accents. This piece is not marked but is most likely French / France in origin. Probably dating from 1920s or 30s, Art Deco period. (Locket is deeper red than the photos portray)
The locket itself measures 2" long x 1 5/8" across and 1/4" thick, it measures 2 3/4" long with the bale. It is in very good vintage condition. On one side there is some darkening at the top of the locket to the garnet colored enameling. There are some tiny specs of green enameling missing, this is not readily noticeable and photos are greatly enlarged to show detail. This is one one side of the locket only... on the side with the plain gilt over brass slide. Not on the mirrored slide. The rest of the enamelling is quite lovely with no scratches or scuffing,
The locket comes on an age appropriate gold tone 30" chain. The old beveled mirror shows several tiny spots of silver loss, nothing distracting in the least. A photo could easily be inserted or any other small keepsake. Locket opens and closes easily, tab at the bottom keeps locket in place and secure.
This is a beautiful locket ready to worn or added to a favorite collection!
