Offered is a DRAMATIC, one of a kind, personally inscribed vintage signed Margaret Ellis sterling silver / bronze cupid's heart necklace. What makes this necklace so desirable is it was hand made / hand forged and inscribed in 1989, one of her early pieces, she opened her workshop in 1983 in Nashville, She retired Jan 2013. This is a one of a kind piece!
This beautiful mixed metals couture necklace is inscribed "DREAM YOUR DREAMS BECOME YOU". If you do a search online you can find an article written in "Southern Woman" magazine. It describes her struggle to find her niche and create .... very inspiring and poignant making the inscription even more meaningful. Her pieces have appeared in episodes of "Sex in the city" and "The Devil Wears Prada".
This necklace is primarily made of sterling silver, some of the arrows in the heart are made of bronze. It is signed on the back with the inscription "Dream your dreams, become you" M. Ellis SS/BZ and there is something under that but I can't make it out. Necklace is in excellent vintage condition with no damage. Necklace measures 20" around wearable length. The heart measures just under 2" across x about 2 1/2" tall. This is a highly desirable and rare necklace. This is the last time I will be marking it down. I've enjoyed wearing it so much and get so many compliments that I might just have to add it to my personal collection. What I really love about this necklace is that it is casual but elegant, equally at home with jeans and a sweater or a little black dress.
Margaret Ellis items are very hard to find, I've searched the net and found very few items for sale. I did find a pair of earrings in the 900.00 range on Rubylane. If you like unique jewelry or jewelry that has meaning or .... if you just want to purchase jewelry that is a good investment ..... this is the necklace for you. This is wearable art / sculpture! Don't miss your chance to own this lovely and rare cupid's heart necklace by Margaret Ellis.
