Eve and the Apple, demonstrates Proietti's scope as an artist to attempt a subject which is suggestive of derivation and tradition, but in execution is original and wholly contemporary. Although the title is taken from the biblical narrative, the real essence of this work is the expression of pictorial arrangements and harmony of colour. Drawn in the early 1980's Eve and the Apple captures the Artist's robust sensual glamour with its sharp delineation of form and subtle symbolism. Proietti painted a small number of mythological and biblical subjects into the 1990s, which he exhibited in Amsterdam, Baden Baden and Paris.
