CONDITION: Wonderful, with no breaks, no scrapes, and no metal damage. It is finished skillfully, with only the lightest of filing marks.
Born in Eraclea, near Venice in 1947, Athos Ongaro was principally active as a sculptor throughout the 1970s and 80s, his output starting off as classical and becoming increasingly avant-garde in later years, working with different media and technique. He has exhibited throughout Italy since the 1970s, and subsequently in New York (1983 and 1995) at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter (2000) and at the Venice Biennale. --------------------------------------
