A fascinating Pendant featuring a standing horse which has been cut from an old Irish half-crown coin - the Irish Harp featured on these coins can be seen on the reverse. The date of the coin has been cut away so I cannot see the year of issue, these coins were originally made in 750 standard silver and after 1951 they were issued in cupronickel. The coins were minted between 1928 to 1967 so this would date to this time frame. I have not tested the coin although it appears to be silver. It is on an 835 standard silver chain.
The Chain measures just under 17 3/4 inches long (it is marked 835 on a tag at the clasp) and the Pendant measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
In good condition with no damage.
