A large vintage silver Jerusalem Cross pendant which also has a pin fitting so that it can be worn as a brooch. Set with 5 emerald green faceted rhinestones which appear to be foiled on the back as they sparkle beautifully when the light catches them, the pendant has its original pendant bail and is marked on the back 'Jerusalem Silver' and the pin fitting is marked 'Jerusalem 935'. The 'Jerusalem Silver' mark is quite rubbed and faint and there may be a silver standard marking after the word 'silver' - but if it is there it is impossible to read. I think - although I may be wrong in assuming this - that the pin fitting is a later addition and that possibly the pendant is a lower standard of silver than 935 - but I have not tested it and I may be wrong about this. To be honest I cannot see what use the pin fitting is because if the pendant is worn as a brooch, the pendant bail and loop connecting the bail and pendant are still visible so the only way that it can be worn as a brooch is to wear it upside down with the bail serving as a decorative drop. Perhaps that was what was intended?
The box link chain that the pendant is on is a replacement and it is marked 'Spain 800' which is a lower standard of silver than sterling.
The replacement pendant chain measures 18 inches long and the Pendant/Brooch measures 2 inches side to side and 2 inches top to bottom (excluding the bail) - including the bail the pendant measures 2 1/2 inches top to bottom.
In excellent condition with no damage.
