A gorgeous Art Deco 935 Silver Brooch set with sparkling marcasites and a reddish faceted Carnelian gemstone. Please note that the stone is much lighter in color than it appears in my photos - it has a similar color to a ruby. The Brooch is marked on the back 935 - a higher standard of silver than sterling, which was used in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From the design of the brooch I think that it is probably of German origin. There appear to be some letters stamped in the silver at the back of the stone setting but they are impossible to make out.
The Brooch measures 2 3/8 inches side to side and 3/8 inch top to bottom at its widest point. The Brooch fastens with a safety clasp.
The Brooch is in excellent condition with no damage and no missing marcasites.
