A beautiful Edwardian necklace strung with faceted amethyst color crystal beads on silver - the jump ring at the clasp is marked 935 which is a slightly higher standard of silver than sterling. In between the amethyst color beads are clear crystal bicone spacers.
The amethyst crystal beads measure 11 mm in diameter and the necklace measures 31 1/2 inches long. It fastens with a spring clasp, so if you have a slender neck it can be worn doubled as shown in my photo.
Due to the crystal composition of the beads the necklace has a surprising weight to it and the beads sparkle and reflect the light beautifully.
In excellent condition, the beads do have flea bites but these are only apparent when looking at them using magnification. The silver has tarnished in the years that I have had the necklace but this can easily be remedied by a quick dip in a silver cleaner - which I can do for you if you wish. I personally like the aged patina but have to admit that the necklace looks even better with bright shiny silver.
