A fabulous floral spray Brooch covered in sparkling marcasites set in what looks like silver but in the absence of any marks to indicate that it is solid silver, I must assume is silver plated. Circa 1950, the Brooch is well made with great attention to detail and sparkles enough that it was probably designed and made to be worn as Cocktail jewelry.
The Brooch measures 1 5/8 inches across and 1 3/8 inches top to bottom and fastens with a secure safety clasp.
The Brooch is in excellent condition with no damage and no missing marcasites - these are all in beaded settings where the metal is fashioned to form tiny prongs which hold the stones in place, so they are highly unlikely to fall out. Although the stones sparkle under direct light they really come to life in dull or low lighting when they twinkle and sparkle like tiny diamonds.
