Stand-up German Die-Cut Valentine - Girl in a Blue Dress
Stand up or pop-up valentines were popular in the early 1900's. This exceptionally pretty valentine dates from about 1915 - 1920. It is 2 1/2" x 4 1/2", printed in Germany. The card opens and has a tab that comes forward and holds the figure of the girl. The front figure has bright colors and a glossy finish, the base of the card is matte paper printed in red and blue, and has a machine cut design. There is an image of a locomotive or train behind the girl. Condition is very good with a small brown spot on the area that is folded to the bottom.
