According to the former owner, this dish was purchased by her great grandparents during a trip to Italy in 1909. It was used at Swedish Lutheran Ladies meetings in the first half of the 1900's, and since then, has been lovingly displayed.

The dish is 6 1/2" in diameter, 2" high without the lid and about 5" high with the lid in place. It is larger than a trinket dish, and has been used for serving small treats.

The dish has molded Capodimonte style flowers; roses, daisies and morning glories, on the lid and hand painted flowers; tulips and roses, on the sides. It is marked 78/S Italy on the base. The colors of the painting are bright and clear.

There is some damage to the topmost rose finial (please see photos), with 2 chipped areas on the petals. There is also a hairline on the side of the dish. I have shown the hairline both inside and out. It's a lovely piece with a sentimental history.

We are now able to ship larger packages via UPS. Please email for an estimate.
