William Taylor Staffordshire England White Ironstone Platter - 11" x 14.75"

Antique oval platter in the wheat or Ceres pattern, manufactured by William Taylor in Hanley, Staffordshire, England circa 1860-1881. This all-white ironstone serving platter measures 11" by 14.75" in diameter.

It has the Royal Arms mark that was often used by North Staffordshire Potters. The platter has all over crazing, as shown in the photos.
There is a manufacturing stress hairline on the side, and a smattering of tiny brown spots. There is one very tiny nick on the underside near the center.

The raised pattern on the rim is wheat or Ceres. Although the pattern is faint, one can make out the stalks of grain.
