These earrings are micro mosaic, set in goldstone. The setting is not marked, but tests as 12K. The braid around the setting may be lesser karat, but is too small to test.
The face of each earring is 1/2"x 3/8", each set with a tiny micro-mosaic pink rose. The total length, including the ear wire, is 1". Goldstone is a type of glass developed in the 17th century. It has flake of copper which give it a sparkling appearance.
These earrings date from about 1880. They are in excellent condition with no damages or missing tesserae.
A beautiful and uncommon set of earrings, especially in such wonderful condition.
