Branch coral pins were popular in the Victorian era, and this is the prettiest one I have seen. The central piece of coral is wrapped and finished with a heart. The pin is framed with an embossed gold filled oval and finished with a lower piece with three shining dangles.

The oval measures 1 1/8" x 7/8". The entire piece measures 1 1/8" x 2". The C-clasp works well - please note the mid-Victorian style hinge.
