Beautiful green on white transferware plate marked ATLANTIC, W. H. Grindley, England. The leaf pattern is accented with green and gold scrolls, and there is a scalloped edge and inner geometric border in the bowl interior. This pattern was made from 1880 -1914.
The plate is 10 3/4" across and 1 3/4" high - not quite a soup plate, but slightly deep in the middle as often seen in Victorian china.
There are very faint utensil marks. There is a very shallow darkened chip on the underside edge, and this is not visible from the top. Please see the photos.
Imagine your Irish soda bread on this antique plate!
