Morimura Brothers of Japan made bisque copies of German dolls in the early 1900's, often using the German molds and imported German bodies. This doll is very similar to the Kestner dolls and dates from about 1914.
This doll is in amazing condition! She is 20" high, with bright blue open and shut eyes, parted lips revealing 4 teeth and the original body and hair. She has bisque forearms, a stuffed canvas body and stuffed muslin legs and feet. She is fully jointed. Marked MB Japan (see photo).
There are no damages, other than water spots on the legs, as shown. There are pale brown specks under her right chin, which may be paint spatter.
The clothes were made in the 1970's and include a slip, drawers and socks, all of which are in immaculate condition. The display stand is included.
The current owner is the great granddaughter of the original owner, and this doll has been carefully passed down within the family, which accounts for the excellent condition. The doll was dressed in a look-alike wedding dress in the 1970's, and I assume the original clothing was mislaid at that time. A little history is available with purchase.
