Elegant pink console bowl, 11 1/2" across and about 2 1/4" deep. It has a wheel or turned edge shape, with etched flowers along the side. Console bowls were meant as a sideboard display or centerpiece. The well in the center would hold a bouquet of flowers, (in a flower frog or small container) which would cascade gracefully over the sides of the bowl.
This is "Elegant Glass of the Depression Era". It was a higher quality glass, marketed to brides and the well-to-do. It was never a giveaway or promotional item.
This piece is in excellent condition. I see no damages, scratches of any other issues. If you long for a more elegant and refined era or are planning a wedding or bridal shower, this is a lovely piece.
