This is a wonderful 10" high Jugtown pottery jug in a traditional small necked bottle shape. Unfortunately, the handle was broken and the fragment lost.
The jug or large bottle is salt glazed and wood fired, with a cobalt blue floral decoration. Jugtown has been making traditional American pottery since 1917, and this piece most likely dates from around 1980.
Even with the damage, it is a beautiful piece worth preserving. All sides of the vessel are shown in the photos.
