This is one of my favorite vintage Coro pieces, and a book piece, as well. (See Marcia Brown's "Coro Jewelry, A Collector's Guide", p215). The brooch is sterling vermeil, a three dimensional bow with a central flower and spray of leaflets in turquoise blue glass stones. The color is a pure blue - think of Sleeping Beauty turquoise or robin's egg. There are small red rhinestones which bring a bit of contrast and excitement to the design.
This brooch is a great example of the artistry and thoughtful design that made Coro a successful company. It is about 2 1/4" in each direction.
This brooch is in very good condition. The camera magnifies everything, especially on shiny metal, and you will see very light scratches on the vermeil. These are very superficial and not apparent to the naked eye.
This comes with a burgundy velveteen box or silk pouch (your choice). Neither is original to the piece, but this is a pin to protect and treasure.
We are happy to combine orders when possible.
