Charming earrings, circa 1890, each with a portrait, hand painted on porcelain. The picture is a young girl in with roses in her hair. The portraits face right and left. One may see the brush marks under magnification.
The ribbon style setting is rolled gold (similar to gold plate), and tests as 10K. The ear wires are not marked and I believe them to be 14K, but cannot do a definitive test without damaging the wires, so we are pricing them as if they are 14K gold plated.
The porcelain sections are 1/2" x 3/4" and the overall earring is 11/16" x 15/16". They are comfortably light in weight. There is minor wear to the painting - please refer to the photos.
