Hand painted porcelain pin or brooch with dainty blue forget-me-not flowers. The pin is 1 1/4" x 7/8", with a brass backing and old-fashioned C-clasp. These pins were most popular from about 1885 - 1910. Genteel women often studied china painting as a hobby, but many were done by professional artists.
The subjects were often flowers as symbols of love and friendship. The meaning of forget-me-nots is just what it says, and this would be a perfect gift for a friend.
The pin itself is in very good condition, with a minimum of wear to the painting.
