The painting on these larger (1 1/4" x 7/8") is simply amazing. Each pink wild rose is delicately shaded and finished with intricate detail. The porcelain plaque is rimmed in gold colored paint.
The painted porcelain dates from about 1890. The earrings, originally lady's studs or cuff links, now have a gold plated lever-back ear wires for pierced ears.
These earrings show a minimum of wear and no damage to the painting. In the language of flowers, these pink single roses mean young love.
