Very beautiful Victorian locket, dating from about 1895.It is 1" (24 mm) long, not including the ring, and about 5/8" (16mm) wide. It is not marked, but has been verified by a jeweler to be 12K gold filled.
The decoration is highly ornate with engraved flowers and an embossed border. It opens to reveal two photos; a dapper man with a mustache and a young woman. There is dark blond hair pressed behind the woman's photo - a few strands have escaped in the photo. You may, of course replace these with your own photos.
The locket is in very good condition with some minor enamel loss and a very small dent on the right mid edge of the engraved section. Please see the close-up photos.
The locket functions well, opens and closes tight. This locket did not come with a chain, but I often have vintage chains available a nominal cost.
