This pair of bisque porcelain figurines is a young man and lady in 18th century dress. The lad is playing the flute, the lady appears to be reading the music and marking time with her delicate hand.
The figurines are 6 1/2" high, about 2 1/2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. They are painted in muted colors, mostly shades of blue. The bisque of the male figurine is slightly darker (see comparative photos of the back), but they do not appear mis-matched. It way be a difference in clay or firing time.
The figurines are marked Copyright L&M Inc. This company imported porcelain ware from Japan from about 1953 - 1962. Both figures are in excellent condition - I see no damages, just slight wear to the base, as should be expected.
