Bisque porcelain figurine, 7 1/2" high, 2 1/2" wide and 2" deep. It is a young boy in country or pastoral attire. He wears a large green hat and is leaning against a tree stump. The figurine is painted in muted colors and marked "Made in Japan".
This figurine dates from the 1950's. I see no damages - just a bit of wear to the base. Japanese export ceramics in the earl to mid 1900's imitated European wares - in this case Staffordshire pottery. These Japanese items have a charm of their own and have become quite collectible.
